New cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) have been reported in Nagpur, Maharashtra in a 7-year-old and a 13-year-old. Nationwide, the tally has reached 7. Initially suspected to be H1N1, PCR tests confirmed HMPV. The Union Health Secretary has reviewed the situation, with adequate diagnostic facilities available. China has advised vaccination to control the spread.
