9/11 terror attacks key accused reach plea deals, avoid death penalty

Three men accused of participating in the 9/11 attacks, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, held at Guantánamo Bay have reached plea deals. They will plead guilty to conspiracy charges, resulting in life sentences instead of facing the death penalty. The decision has been met with disappointment by some 9/11 victims’ families.
