Tawang, a small town in Arunachal Pradesh near India’s border with China, is hosting two sporting events: the Tawang Marathon and the Senior National Tug of War Championship. Over 2,500 runners and 1,000 sportspersons have arrived for the events, which are taking place at an altitude of 11,500 feet. The marathon offers four categories, with prizes totalling up to Rs 75,000.
