The plant is expected to be operational by 2026 and a direct impact would be on Toyota customers who are looking to buy its popular models such as the Innova Hycross hybrid MPV. Since its arrival in India, the automaker has invested over Rs 16,000 crore and generated approximately 88,000 jobs across the value chain, including suppliers and dealer partners.
