A UNODC report reveals that Telegram is used extensively by powerful criminal networks in Southeast Asia for numerous illicit activities, including the trade of stolen data, money laundering, and the use of cybercrime tools. Cybercrime groups, often of Chinese origin, exploit trafficked workers and generate substantial revenue, putting consumer data at an increased risk.
