John Lithgow has been confirmed to play Headmaster Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming Harry Potter television series. The series is set to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027, with filming to begin in the summer of 2025. Leading roles are still confidential, but Paapa Essiedu is rumored to play Severus Snape.
