Sambhaji, the eldest son of Shivaji Maharaj, became the second ruler of the Maratha Empire in 1681. He led numerous military campaigns, successfully defended the empire from Mughal invasions, and expanded it despite internal conflicts. Captured by Aurangzeb in 1689, Sambhaji was brutally executed, earning him a legacy of courage and resilience in Indian history.
