The Dow Jones industrial average rose 23.16 points, or 0.13 percent, to 17,619.51, the SP 500 gained 5.48 points, or 0.27 percent, to 2,063.12 and the Nasdaq Composite added 28.40 points, or 0.57 percent, to 4,986.87.
